1. Cedar Avenue and Greenway: The depression of the Greenway route (west to east) ends at this location. As part of a wayfinding system/historical markers project (mentioned above) an artist/historian team should tell the "Trench Story" why and how this depression of the Greenway occurred. In addition, the story should be told about neighborhood activism in Minneapolis and the personal story of the minister who led the grass roots movement that resulted in the railroad line going below grade. These historical markers, whatever form they take, could include oral histories and document the change of the Greenway over time. The "Trench Story" should be repeated in a similar fashion at the point at the western end where the Greenway begins to go below grade. This system would include focal points along a Greenway walking tour.

2. Neighborhood Park/Open Space:
The Greenway's transition at Hiawatha is problematic. The Greenway disappears at this point and reappears on the east side of Hiawatha. On both sides of Hiawatha, the Greenway should be marked to emphasize the connection between the two sides. At Hiawatha and the Greenway a grade-separated crossing is being recommended by the Midtown Greenway Coalition. This could be a 21st century version of the effort made in the early 20th century to depress the railroad line, for the safety of travelers. If grade-separation is feasible, an artist and landscape architect team should be engaged in this project's design. Greenway markers should be utilized as well.

3. Hiawatha and Lake Street/LRT Connector:
Parallel to Hiawatha a pathway should connect the Greenway with the LRT station at Hiawatha. Artist/s should be involved in the design of this connector and the wayfinding system that defines it. If feasible, the same artists involved in the development of the grade-separation above should be consulted or involved in this project. Coordination with the LRT Public Art Program and LRT station design is critical. When the Greenway becomes a transit corridor, a skywalk may be necessary to connect the LRT station to the Greenway. If so, artist(s) should be involved in its design.
