1. **West Gateway Entry to Greenway: This is the western-most entry point onto the Greenway and requires an inviting, sculptural entry feature that is visible from a distance and includes a lighting element. Lake Street bridges over the Greenway near this entry point and the entry project should involve the area on, under, or just west of the Lake Street overpass. Perhaps an arrival pavilion, with signage indicating and defining where the Greenway traveler is in relation to other sites along and adjacent to the Greenway. This signage should continue throughout the Greenway.

Close Landscape Architects has produced a plan which could be enhanced by an artist, design collaboration or major addition by an artist. Artist-designed benches, bike racks, and a drinking fountain would be useful at this site. The land use issues need to be further addressed as there is considerable potential for mixed-use development at this location. Potential collaboration with private development adjacent to the entry.

2. Lake Street Streetscape:
The design of the streetscape along Lake Street should be coordinated with Greenway development and should include identifying markers, i.e. specially-designed Greenway flags, or other objects that are durable but easily replaceable, which signal that one is approaching the Greenway. These markers should be placed in multiple locations leading up to the Greenway through its entire length. On top of the bridge over Lake Street, there should be some visual or aural reminder that one is crossing the Greenway. This should be replicated on all the bridges passing over the Greenway and could take the form of a type of rumble strip which cars drive over or an electronic element that produces a change in radio waves, and interjects a particular tune or words through the radios of cars driving over the Greenway.

3. Confluence Triangle:
This location, where trail systems meet and cross the Greenway should be a prime location for artist-designed Greenway signage and/or wayfinding system. A collaboration between an artist and historian should be considered for development of a wayfinding system/historic walking tour for the length of the Greenway. Information, distances, and historical data should be included on the signs. In addition a freestanding sculptural object, functional or non-functional could be commissioned and sited at the triangulated area where trails and Greenway meet.

4. Scenic Overlook:
The Greenway traveler crosses a lagoon-like area that connects the lakes at this site. An artist-designed scenic overlook, with telescopic "tourist" viewscope, could be added so that one could get a better look at the beautiful sites to be seen from this vantagepoint. This overlook concept could be repeated in site-responsive ways along the 29th Street Promenade at several locations.
